In a testimony before the coroner's inquest in Lagos, the widow of the late Afrobeats musician Mohbad revealed the singer's last moments and the events at the Ikorodu concert. She shared that Mohbad began feeling discomfort after a nurse injected him in his room, and his hand swelled as a result. The injury was from a fight with his friend, Primeboy, and he decided not to go to the hospital.
At the Ikorodu concert on September 10, 2023, Mohbad performed and tried to leave but was blocked by fans. He wanted to go, but the situation became tense as they had to wait for another artist to perform. During an argument with Primeboy, Mohbad got down from the car and approached him because he disliked being called "Promise" in public.
While the fight took place on the other side of the car, the widow was in the middle, and she called for others to help settle the dispute. She could not see what happened during the fight as she was not close.
Mohbad's widow provided insight into the circumstances surrounding his tragic death during her testimony.
