Temitope Adebayo, popularly known as Tope Maggie, has reportedly set a new Guinness World Record for the longest continuous cooking, surpassing the previous record held by Irish chef Alan Fisher. In a TikTok video titled 'The record is broken, congrats to Nigeria, Oyo State, Chef Tope Maggie,' fans celebrated Tope's achievement with applause.
Tope's accomplishment is of significance for Nigeria as it reclaims the title of the longest continuous cooking from Alan Fisher, who had previously dethroned chef Hilda Bassey and her 93-hour record. Tope, who studied Hotel Management at the Federal Polytechnic in Ede, Osun State, earned the nickname 'Maggie' from his mother, who imparted her culinary skills to him.
Currently overseeing a chain of restaurants in Ogbomoso, Tope's remarkable achievement adds another feather to his cap, marking a momentous occasion for the culinary world in Nigeria.
