Nigerian actress Iyabo Ojo has addressed the ongoing controversy surrounding the burial of the late singer Mohbad, also known as Ilerioluwa Aloba. This follows a warning from Mohbad's father, Joseph Aloba, stating that no one should proceed with the burial without his authorization.
Iyabo Ojo clarified that nobody is preventing Mohbad's father from burying his son, emphasizing the family's right to handle burial arrangements as they see fit. Meanwhile, the police in Lagos state have informed Mr. Aloba that he can collect his son's corpse anytime, but he has not yet applied for it.
Despite the mother's claim that the singer's body has been released to the father, the police source revealed that the body is still in the morgue. The police emphasized that only the father can apply for the release, and any day he does, the corpse will be immediately available. The father, however, has insisted on a DNA test before taking further steps.
The singer, who passed away on September 12, was initially buried on September 13. However, following public demand for an autopsy, the body was exhumed on September 21. The controversy persists as the autopsy result remains undisclosed, and Mr. Aloba continues to advocate for a DNA test to confirm the paternity of Mohbad's seven-month-old son, Liam.
