High Demand: 45,000 Applicants Vie for 2,000 Teaching Positions in Ogun

In a notable development, the Ogun State Commissioner for Science and Technology, Prof Abayomi Arigbabu, revealed that a staggering 45,000 individuals applied for the recently concluded Ogun Teach internship program. The initiative aimed to fill 2,000 teaching positions within the state.

Prof Arigbabu emphasized that, given the overwhelming number of applicants, the government plans to select only the most qualified candidates. Successful candidates are expected to receive their letters of engagement by the end of April.

Additionally, the commissioner issued a stern warning, emphasizing that education, from primary to secondary school, remains free in the state. He cautioned that any headteacher or principal found violating the government's policy on free education would face sanctions.
