A Nigerian man, identified as NeoOfficiel, has stirred controversy on Twitter by criticizing Nigerian women, suggesting they may not be marriageable. NeoOfficiel pointed to the marriages of Nigerian musicians Johnny Drille and Moses Bliss, who married women from Lebanon and Ghana, respectively, rather than choosing Nigerian partners.
Expressing his opinion on Twitter, NeoOfficiel raised concerns about Nigerian girls possibly being the issue, emphasizing that both artists opted for international unions despite having options in Nigeria. He specifically highlighted Moses Bliss's choice to marry a Ghanaian woman, leaving behind Nigerian admirers.
"Johnny Drille married a woman from Lebanon. Moses Bliss left all the Nigerian girls who have been kneeling and bowing for him to go and marry a Ghanaian girl. Once again, Nigerian girls might actually be the problem."
However, reality TV star Leo De Silva quickly challenged NeoOfficiel's viewpoint, noting that these were just two cases among numerous marriages involving Nigerian citizens.
Undeterred, NeoOfficiel urged men to date and marry with purpose, emphasizing the importance of choosing women with value beyond physical attributes. He argued against prioritizing physical features and encouraged men to avoid marrying liabilities.
The exchange on Twitter has sparked a conversation about cultural perceptions of marriage and relationships, with contrasting views emerging on the platform.
