A Nigerian soldier, finally reuniting with his family after a year-long mission in Maiduguri, Borno state, has shared his distress over the inability to cover a N35,000 transport fare. In a widely circulated video, the soldier expressed his frustration, explaining that despite being granted leave from the Maiduguri bush, he couldn't afford the transportation cost back home.
The soldier, earning a monthly salary of N50,000, realized the round-trip fare amounted to N70,000, making it financially challenging for him. Faced with this dilemma, he contemplated returning to Maiduguri instead of undertaking the costly journey home. Social media users have expressed sympathy for the soldier's predicament, with many sharing their concerns in the comment section.
