Late Barrister drummer Bashiru Adeleke speaks on what the late Fuji singer Barrister did to him and why he left his crew

Bashiru Adeleke, a seasoned drummer who collaborated with the late singer Barister, has addressed the ongoing controversy surrounding the treatment of musicians by prominent artists like Wasiu Ayinde.

Adeleke revealed that issues concerning fair payment were prevalent even during Barister's era, mirroring the current complaints against Wasiu Ayinde. However, he noted that these concerns were not as openly discussed back then, leading to their obscurity.

Adding to the discussion, another drummer from Wasiu Ayinde's camp disclosed receiving a mere eight thousand naira for a single show, shedding light on the alleged unfair compensation practices.

Further elaborating on the matter, Kunle Ayanlowo detailed his experience, stating that from October 2022 to January 1st 2023, they performed 46 shows, earning a total of only three hundred and seventy thousand naira. This amounts to approximately eight thousand naira per show, a stark contrast to the estimated daily living expenses of eighteen to twenty thousand naira during the tour.

These revelations underscore ongoing challenges within the music industry regarding fair compensation for artists and crew members alike.
