Sokoto Police Arrest Father For Selling His Six Biological Children

The Sokoto State Police Command has arrested ten members of a human trafficking and child abduction syndicate and rescued 21 children.


During a press conference on Thursday, May 30, 2024, the state Commissioner of Police, CP Ali Hayatu Kaigama, disclosed the arrests at the command headquarters. One of the suspects, Bala Abubakar from Tudun Wada, Sokoto, was accused of selling 28 children, including six of his own.


The suspects reportedly sold the children to Kulu Dongoyaro and Elizabeth Ojah for amounts ranging between N150,000 and N250,000, claiming they were being taken to an NGO in Abuja that would care for their welfare.
