A heartrending video of a Nigerian woman shedding tears over the demolition of her family's property has gone viral on social media. In the footage, the distressed woman revealed that her family acquired the property in Eti-Osa local government area of Lagos state in February, only for it to be demolished by the state government just two months later.
The state government has been conducting demolitions of structures allegedly built on water channels across the state. In the emotional video, the woman, unable to contain her grief, lamented, "We bought that property in February and we have only been there for two months." She went on to express her anguish, mentioning the hard work and sacrifices made to acquire the property, particularly emphasizing the high cost of properties in Eti-Osa. The woman also shared her struggle to explain the situation to her children, reflecting on the pain and hardship she and her family are enduring as a result of the demolition.
