Drama Unfolds as Mohbad’s Father Faces Mysterious Petition Over Son’s Death

Joseph Aloba, the father of the late singer Mohbad, has expressed his frustration after a petitioner failed to appear in court. On June 3rd, Aloba shared a video revealing he had been summoned to the Alagbon police station without knowing the reason, suspecting it might be an attempt to silence or detain him.

In a recent update, Aloba mentioned he responded to the police summons, but the petitioner did not show up. He questioned how anyone could lose a beloved son like Mohbad and remain silent. He expressed his distress over losing his son months ago and facing petitions while seeking justice. He urged Nigerians to continue supporting him in his quest for justice.

“Isn’t it funny that I lost my son for months, and in my quest to uncover the cause of his death, I am being petitioned and need to answer to the police? Today, I went again to answer the call... Painfully, the petitioner didn’t even show up. Who will lose such a precious jewel as Mohbad and keep quiet? Please, you all should not relent in your support through any means available. Justice for Mohbad is justice for all,” he stated.

Reports suggest the petitioner is the Oba of Elegushi, who filed a suit against Aloba for cyberbullying, cyberstalking, and criminal defamation. The head of the Aloba legal team, Monisola Odumosu, explained that the allegations stemmed from an interview given by Aloba. Aloba clarified he had no proof to support the allegations against the monarch, except for a petition written by his late son and phone conversations he had with him. The monarch demanded a retraction, and Odumosu confirmed that Aloba was neither arrested nor detained.

To refresh, Mohbad, a former signee of Naira Marley’s record label, tragically died at 27 under unclear circumstances on September 12. Videos surfaced showing him being bullied by his former boss and his associates. The Nigeria Police are still investigating the mystery behind his death.

In another development, Joseph Aloba claimed in an interview that Mohbad’s mistress was responsible for his death, although he did not name her. He also declared that Liam, the supposed grandson, was not his, citing that the child’s name and traits did not align with his family.
