Renowned Yoruba actor Adewale Adeoye, known as Adewale Elesho, attributes his widespread recognition to his unique birth circumstances. In an interview with Adedoyin Kukoyi, the veteran actor revealed that his albinism sparked immense interest from an early age.
Born to darker-complexioned parents, Elesho's appearance led to speculation and curiosity. His late mother initially feared rumors of an extramarital affair with her Lebanese supplier. However, his father's joy and pride quickly dispelled her concerns.
"I became popular since my birth. News spread everywhere that a white man was born. Some scolded their children for coming to our house because I was an albino. Many came to look at me out of curiosity," Elesho shared.
Despite the initial difficulties, Elesho's elder brother, Yekinni Adebola, fiercely defended him against ridicule, helping him embrace his albinism. His journey to stardom began in 2016 when comedian Arole introduced him to Instagram skit-making. This paved the way for his prominent career in Nollywood and his son Yemi Elesho's successful comedy skits.
