"Didn't you vote for him?" Fans Criticize Saidi Balogun for Speaking Out on Nigeria's Economic Hardship

Nollywood actor Saidi Balogun faced backlash from fans after he voiced concerns about the current economic hardship in Nigeria. Balogun questioned the functionality of price control and regulatory agencies in the country, noting how inflation is spiraling out of control.

Many of his followers were displeased with his comments, pointing out that he had previously campaigned for the President. One fan, Justice Oso, sarcastically asked if the economic hardship had reached Balogun's level as well, implying that it primarily affected the masses.

In response, Balogun explained that hardships impact everyone regardless of status. "The rain falls on everyone, sir, regardless of status. Because I probably have an umbrella does not mean I don’t see the effect of the rain," he replied.

Another fan questioned Balogun's sincerity in caring about the country's situation. Balogun affirmed his concern, suggesting that the fan's skepticism was due to preconceived notions. "Of course, I care. But you would never know that because you already have your mindset. May God answer our prayers," he wrote.

Other fans also chimed in with critical remarks:

Honey Dandy: "Really for your mouth, sir."

Hardey Deji101: "Really! You all will still come out and speak the truth."

Bamidele Oniyidefatimo: "Didn't you vote for him? Sorry, sir."

Peb Honour: "So you can talk. Remaining Lege, Toyin, etc."

Oma Bolaji: "Come out and talk the truth, sir. You can call a spade a spade. This suffering is too much. We all are suffering and smiling."

Escutz_: "Didn't you and the Yoruba movie industry vote for Baba? What are you complaining about, Mr. Man?"

Balogun's comments have sparked a heated debate among his followers about responsibility and accountability during challenging economic times.
