Nollywood actress Foluke Daramola Salako has made a heartfelt appeal to Nigerians, seeking urgent help for her colleague and production manager, Yusuf Olorungbebe, who is currently on life support. In an emotional video shared on her social media, Foluke showed the ailing actor in his hospital bed and urged the public to donate towards his treatment, emphasizing that no amount is too small.
“I’m here again to plea on behalf of my very esteemed colleague and production manager, Mr. Yusuf Olorungbebe; this is his state as of today, presently on life support,” she said. “Please, no amount is too small for him to live; your support will go a very long way in helping us. Thanks so much, everyone.” She also provided his account details for those willing to help.
Foluke Daramola has long been an advocate for ailing veterans in the Nollywood industry, often using her platform to raise awareness and funds for those in need. Recently, she called for financial assistance for veteran actress Obiqgheli Molobe, who was suffering from a partial stroke, diabetes, and high blood pressure.
In December of last year, following the death of veteran actor Dejumo Lewis, Foluke wrote an open letter to President Tinubu and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, highlighting the dire conditions faced by many Nollywood veterans. She urged the government to provide better support for these actors, including establishing a trust fund and offering essential aid that would improve their quality of life.
Foluke’s ongoing efforts underscore the challenges faced by aging Nollywood actors and her commitment to ensuring they receive the care and recognition they deserve.
