Nigerian gospel singer Dare Melody has shared deeply personal insights into the difficult experiences his late wife, Adedoyin, faced before her passing in October at age 47. In a viral video, Melody opened up about how his family treated Adedoyin poorly, yet despite the mistreatment, he continually encouraged her to stay strong and at peace.
He expressed fondly how Adedoyin was his pillar of support, especially during a challenging time in his career when a music promoter blacklisted him for nearly four years. Melody recalled, "My family frustrated Adedoyin, and I would hold her and say, ‘Adedoyin, I am the one you married, and whenever you see me, put your mind at rest.’"
Melody also shared a heartbreaking memory of a New Year's Eve when they had little to eat, yet Adedoyin stood by him. "When people celebrated the New Year, I ate biscuits with her and our one-year-old daughter. I told the Lord, ‘If truly you are the one who called me, let people know you did.’"
He continued, reflecting on how God eventually opened doors for him: "God told me I would release a record in 2010, which became Goodness and Mercy. That record revived my career, and people started to recognize me." As his career gained momentum, Melody was able to build a house. He explained, "A friend called me and said, ‘This woman stood by you, let’s build a house for her,’ and I said, ‘Everything I have is for her.’”
In gratitude for her steadfast support, Melody honored Adedoyin by dedicating the house to her, ensuring that her sacrifices were never forgotten.
