Ekiti State Government Backs Lateef and Adebimpe Adedimeji’s Film on Ekiti Parapo War

Nollywood couple Lateef Adedimeji and his wife, Adebimpe Adedimeji, have secured the support of the Ekiti State Government for their upcoming historical film on the Ekiti Parapo War.

The movie aims to depict the resilience and victory of the Ekiti people against oppression, with a world-class production that will authentically tell the story of the war.

This development was announced by Yinka Oyebode, the Special Adviser on Media to Governor Biodun Oyebanji, on Tuesday. Oyebode revealed that the governor approved the project during a meeting in Ado-Ekiti on Monday.

The film will be produced through a collaboration between the State Ministry of Arts, Culture and Creative Economy and AL Notions Film Company, owned by the Nollywood couple. The project will be privately funded, with AL Notions Film Company, the producers of Lisabi: The Uprising, leading the initiative.

According to Oyebode, the production team will work closely with a unit from the Ekiti State Ministry of Arts, Culture and Creative Economy, led by Commissioner Professor Rasaki Ojo Bakare, a highly respected Artistic Director in Africa.

Adebimpe Adedimeji, a native of Ijero-Ekiti, expressed excitement about the project, alongside her husband. They assured their full dedication, promising to deliver a film that does justice to the historical significance of the Ekiti Parapo War.

The movie will be shot primarily in Ekiti towns and villages, featuring a blend of top Nollywood stars and talented artistes of Ekiti origin.
