Joseph Aloba, father of late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, widely known as Mohbad, has publicly called on the Nigeria Police to summon two key figures—his son’s wife, Omowunmi Cynthia Adebanjo, and his brother, Adura Aloba—for questioning over the circumstances surrounding the singer’s untimely death.
This demand follows a dramatic press conference organized by actor Yomi Fabiyi, where a video allegedly sent by Adura was played. The video, rather than bringing clarity, raised more questions about Mohbad’s passing, leading Fabiyi to suggest that Adura might possess crucial details about the incident. This claim, however, did not sit well with Mohbad’s mother, Abosede, who clashed with Fabiyi over the allegations against her son.
In a strongly worded statement, Joseph Aloba accused Mohbad’s mother of blocking every attempt he and other family members made to reach Adura for an explanation. He revealed that despite Adura being present at the scene when Mohbad passed away, he has remained silent, fueling further suspicions.
"I have tried multiple times to communicate with Adura to get answers about what really happened that day, but all efforts have been frustrated. I believe his testimony, along with that of Mohbad’s wife, could be instrumental in uncovering the truth. The police need to summon them both immediately," Aloba stated.
Expressing concerns over possible external influences preventing Adura from speaking out, he described the situation as a deliberate obstruction of justice. He also appealed to law enforcement to ensure the safety of Adura and Omowunmi when they are eventually called in for questioning.
The ongoing controversy surrounding Mohbad’s death has kept the public on edge, with fans demanding a thorough investigation into the events leading to his passing. Many believe that summoning the late singer’s closest family members could be a significant step toward unraveling the mystery.
