"I’m Incredibly Proud of My Mom" – Michelle Gentry Celebrates Mother Mercy Aigbe’s First Cinema Film, Ada Omo Daddy

Michelle Gentry, daughter of Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe, has taken to Instagram to celebrate her mother’s milestone achievement with her first cinema film, Ada Omo Daddy.

Expressing her excitement, Michelle shared her joy at seeing the overwhelming love and positive reviews the movie has received. She praised her mother for her perseverance and hard work, highlighting the dedication she poured into the project despite facing challenges.

"I’m so happy to see all the love and positive reviews for this movie! I’m incredibly proud of my mom for her first cinema job—she poured her heart into this with so much resilience, even through all the challenges. This film means so much to her, and it tells a story that has impacted so many lives. Grateful to see it resonating with people! Keep streaming and supporting!" she wrote.

In response, Mercy Aigbe expressed her gratitude for her daughter’s sweet words, commenting, “Thank you, love.”

Earlier, Mercy’s husband, Kazim Adeoti, also showered her with praise as the Netflix run of Ada Omo Daddy came to an end. He commended her strength, resilience, and remarkable achievement, noting that the film had an impressive run in cinemas and delivered outstanding results.

Mercy Aigbe’s debut cinema film, Ada Omo Daddy, was a massive success in Nigeria, grossing an impressive $187 million. This achievement placed the movie as the third highest-grossing Nollywood film, a remarkable feat, especially considering competition from industry heavyweights like Toyin Abraham and Funke Akindele.
