"He Wasn’t Poisoned, He Died in a Car Accident" – Owolabi Ajasa Reveals True Cause of Ahmed Alasari’s Death (Video)

Popular Yoruba Nollywood actor Owolabi Ajasa has addressed rumors surrounding the death of veteran actor and filmmaker Ahmed Alasari, clarifying that he was not poisoned but tragically died in a car accident.

In an interview with FeelRightNews TV, Ajasa recounted the events leading to Alasari’s untimely passing. He explained that on that fateful Sunday morning, Alasari had informed him of his trip to Lagos to deliver the master copy of his movie to a marketer for advertisement. Unfortunately, during the journey, he was involved in a fatal accident.

Ajasa revealed that he was at home when the tragedy occurred. He noted that he usually traveled with Alasari, accompanying him on about 95% of his trips. However, on that particular day, he had other commitments that prevented him from going along.

Recalling their last conversation, Ajasa shared that Alasari had reassured him there was no need to travel together that day, as he had assigned him another task to handle at home. Sadly, just hours later, news of the accident reached him.

“I remember it was on a Sunday morning. Alasari told me he wanted to travel to Lagos from Abeokuta to submit a master copy of his movie to a marketer and run an advertisement. That’s when he had an accident. So, Alasari wasn’t poisoned—he died in an accident while trying to submit a master copy of his movie. I didn’t even know he was dead until we got to the hospital,” he said.

Alasari’s passing remains a significant loss to the Yoruba film industry, and Ajasa’s revelation puts to rest speculations about the circumstances surrounding his death.
