Veteran Yoruba Nollywood actress, Sonola Oluwafunmilayo, has opened up about the heartbreaking loss of her son, who passed away just a month before his graduation.
In an emotional interview with FeelRightNews TV, the actress described it as the most devastating moment of her career, revealing how deeply the tragedy has affected her. She recalled the years of sacrifice she made to ensure her son had a bright future, only for her dreams to be shattered at the last moment.
Sonola explained that her son showed no signs of illness before the tragedy. On the day of the incident, he suddenly fell ill and complained that something had entered his body. In a desperate attempt to save him, she took him to multiple hospitals and treatment centers, spending a fortune on medical care. Despite all her efforts, he did not survive.
Recalling her pain, she said:
"You know, man proposes, but God disposes. I can say with my full chest that all the money I made from this acting career was what I used to send my son to school. A month before he was supposed to graduate and serve, he died and was brought home. He wasn’t sick. He even called me on the day the incident happened, and his girlfriend also spoke with him that day. But around 2 p.m. on Sunday, when the incident occurred, he said something entered his body. He was taken to several places for treatment, but in the end, he did not survive."
The veteran actress continues to mourn the untimely loss, reflecting on the pain of losing a child after years of struggle and sacrifice.
