“Many girls flooded my husband’s DMs, badmouthing me and offering to marry him” — BBNaija’s Queen Speaks Out on Trolls Targeting Her Marriage

Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Queen Mercy Atang, has opened up about the challenges she faces due to false rumours surrounding her marriage.

In a lengthy post on her Instagram page, Queen shared a screenshot of a disturbing message sent to her husband’s inbox by a troll. The troll insulted her, calling her an “amoeba,” and advised her husband to warn her.

Addressing the situation, Queen revealed that whenever rumours circulate about her and her husband’s relationship, several women flood her husband's direct messages. Some bad-mouth her, while others boldly offer to marry him, claiming they would be “more obedient” than she is.

The reality star expressed her frustration, admitting that sometimes she feels like hiding her husband’s Instagram account or avoiding posting about him to protect herself from unnecessary drama. Despite these challenges, she said she has developed thick skin against online trolling but warned that people should know their limits.

Her post partly read:

“This isn’t the first time trolls have found their way into my husband’s DMs to say ridiculous things. You troll me, I respond, then you run to his inbox to drag me again. Do you think I’m scared of being dragged? I’ve seen worse. The number of girls who messaged him after rumours of our breakup was shocking. Some badmouthed me; others offered to marry him. Sometimes, I feel like hiding his account. Please, drag me if you want, but don’t cross the line.”

In October 2024, barely seven months into their marriage, rumours spread that Queen’s marriage was in trouble. Observers noticed that Queen had unfollowed her husband on Instagram, deleted all his photos, and removed his name from her bio.

However, during the Christmas holidays, Queen shut down the separation rumours by reuniting with her husband, King David, in the UK. She shared photos of her travels and joyfully announced that she was back to her “wifey duties.”

King David also proved that things were fine by welcoming his wife with warmth and promising to pamper her.

Just last week, the couple celebrated their first wedding anniversary. Queen described their first year of marriage as “beautiful, eventful, and sometimes challenging.” She said they had grown side by side, learned from one another, and overcome obstacles together while building a strong foundation of love and trust. She also expressed hope for more adventures and the continued pursuit of their dreams together.

Fans have praised Queen for her honesty and resilience, with many advising her to ignore negativity and focus on her marriage.
