Nollywood actor and self-acclaimed relationship expert, Lege Miami, is facing intense backlash online after making a controversial remark about married women and phone privacy.
In a video making rounds on social media, Lege boldly claimed that any housewife who places a password on her phone is a “prostitute.” He argued that such behavior is a sign of infidelity and disrespect in marriage.
According to him, it is acceptable for men to have phone passwords or even cheat, but women must not act the same. He insisted that any woman who hides information on her phone is not fit for marriage and should leave her husband’s home.
His exact words were:
“Any housewife who puts a password on her phone or uses it to hide things is a prostitute. Quote me anywhere. Just because your husband locks his phone doesn’t mean you should do the same. You are not ready for marriage. Pack your load and leave the house. Your husband can cheat, but as a woman, you have no right to cheat. That’s what makes you a good and responsible wife.”
Lege’s remarks have sparked outrage, especially from women who described his views as highly misogynistic, backward, and harmful. Many took to social media to condemn his double standards, calling for a better understanding of mutual respect and privacy in relationships.
The actor has not yet responded to the backlash.
