Nollywood actor Kunle Afod has stirred emotions online after sharing a heartbreaking video of veteran Nigerian musician Daddy Fresh lying sick in a hospital bed.
In the video posted on Afod’s Facebook page on Wednesday, the actor was seen visiting the ailing music legend, who has been battling a prolonged illness for over two and a half years. Afod captioned the clip“Daddy Fresh must not die – one of Nigeria’s finest artists is in a terrible condition.”

During their emotional conversation, Daddy Fresh, dressed in a blue sleeveless top, could barely recognize Afod at first before weakly greeting him. The singer revealed he has been suffering from kidney and liver problems, neuropathy, and impaired vision.
He added that his blood level has dropped to 25%, requiring immediate blood transfusions, and that he can’t stand or walk without support. He also disclosed he’s facing eviction due to unpaid rent, despite struggling to raise funds from his sickbed.
“If I try to stand, I’ll fall unless someone holds me. See my face, my knees — all bruised from falling,” he said painfully.
Afod, who offered him financial help during the visit, made a passionate plea to Nigerians and fellow entertainers to support Daddy Fresh financially and emotionally.
“This is Daddy Fresh. He’s been sick for over three years. I met him in a very bad state. Please, Nigerians, entertainers, let’s help him stay alive,” Afod appealed.
The visit has sparked an outpouring of sympathy across social media, with fans and colleagues calling for immediate assistance for the once-celebrated singer.
