Nollywood actor Adeniyi Johnson has expressed his excitement and pride after finally working with legendary actor Baba Wande, someone he described as his childhood idol.
Johnson shared photos of their time together on set on Instagram, revealing that although he had met Baba Wande many times in the past, this was the first time they would appear in a movie together. He praised the veteran for his exceptional acting skills and thanked him for the opportunity.
According to him,
“Forget it, Baba can act! I feel blessed working with you, sir. May you live long in good health.”
The project they are shooting is titled Ija Iju, directed by Adebayo Tijani.
Past Controversies
Earlier this year, Johnson made headlines after publicly calling out his colleague Habeeb Alagbe for sharing a steamy kiss with his wife, Seyi Edun, in a movie. He questioned Alagbe’s boldness and wondered how a new actor could “do anything he wants” without considering that Seyi is a married woman.
Public Apology
In June, Johnson apologised to colleagues, friends, and others he may have offended. He said he chose peace and reminded everyone that life is short, no matter one’s age or status.
AFRIMEK Suspension
Last year, Johnson was suspended indefinitely by AFRIMEK, a club led by Femi Adebayo, for alleged misconduct and violating the club’s rules. He expressed disappointment over the announcement, saying the statement they made could damage his name, his family, and his brand, even though he acknowledged he wasn’t “bigger than the club.”
Appreciation to Dele Odule
Despite the drama, Johnson later shared a heartfelt appreciation post to veteran actor Dele Odule, describing him as a father, mentor, teacher, listener, and true leader.
