Imisi’s mother has spoken out for the first time about the strained relationship between her and the BBNaija winner. In a new video, she said her daughter has neglected her since becoming famous, despite all the support she gave her in the past.
According to her, she may not be rich or educated, but she tried her best to care for Imisi. She explained that she was even with her younger sister in Ajah, who gave her food and clothes to wear. She asked the public to know the full story before judging her.
The mother also described the sacrifices she made for her daughter’s success. She said she worked hard and prayed for Imisi to win so she could lift the family out of poverty. But instead, she is now receiving insults from people, and her relationship with her daughter has become worse. She claimed Imisi told her she “hates” her and cannot stand her.
She added that she was not included in important moments of Imisi’s life after the show. She said she wasn’t informed about the day Imisi would receive her Big Brother gifts until late in the afternoon, and she felt like she was only called so she could “dress up” as if her daughter bought the clothes for her.
Meanwhile, old rumors about Imisi’s childhood have resurfaced — claims that she was sent out of her family home at age 12, lived on the streets, and went through serious trauma.
Imisi herself has spoken about her painful childhood experiences, saying she suffered abuse and neglect. These past issues, she explained, have made it difficult for her to reconnect with her mother despite her newfound fame.
