Nigerian football star Victor Osimhen has been honoured as the GQ Sportsman of the Year in Turkey. He received the award on Wednesday during a glamorous black-tie ceremony held in Istanbul.
Osimhen, 26, has quickly won the hearts of Galatasaray fans since joining the club, becoming a key force in their domestic success. His debut season was especially remarkable—he scored 37 goals and provided seven assists in 41 matches, helping Galatasaray win both the Super Lig and the Turkish Cup.
His outstanding performance even led the club to break Turkey’s transfer record, paying €75 million to sign him permanently from Napoli.
Although injuries have slowed him slightly this season, Osimhen remains in top form, scoring 11 goals in 14 appearances across all competitions.
