Nigerian music star Davido has spoken openly about his strong relationship with his aide, Israel DMW, despite the constant teasing and rumours surrounding them.
During a recent livestream with skit maker Carter Efe, Davido compared Carter’s relationship with Kolu to his own bond with Israel. The singer said that even though many people mock their friendship online, Israel is one of his closest friends and someone he can confide in during difficult moments.
According to Davido, their relationship has grown over the years from a simple boss-and-staff arrangement into a deep friendship. Like many close relationships, the duo has had their ups and downs, but they always find their way back to each other.

Davido also addressed past rumours of a fallout between them. In August, fans noticed that the singer had unfollowed Israel on Instagram, sparking talks of bad blood. However, Israel later shut down the rumours by sharing photos from Canada, where he joined Davido on tour. He also celebrated Davido’s wedding to Chioma and hinted that Miami would be “on lockdown” for five days.
To further prove that their relationship remains solid, Davido gifted Israel a Rolex watch. This came months after reports in July claimed that Davido’s management and family had restricted Israel from joining the singer’s “Five” tour due to alleged behavioural issues.
Earlier in May, Israel publicly praised Davido, thanking him for the lifestyle he enjoys. He shared videos of himself on a private jet to Abuja and expressed deep gratitude to the singer for the opportunities and life he has been given.
Overall, Davido’s comments have reassured fans that, despite past controversies, his bond with Israel DMW remains strong and personal.
