Entrepreneur and social media influencer Sophia Momodu has sent a strong message to fans and content creators who still refer to her as the wife of Afrobeats singer Davido.
Speaking during a recent video broadcast, Sophia, who is the mother of Davido’s first child, Imade, made it clear that she is no longer in a relationship with the singer. She explained that their relationship ended many years ago and that she is uncomfortable being addressed with a title that no longer reflects reality.
Sophia recalled an incident where a content creator approached her and greeted her as “Mama Imade, OBO’s wife.” According to her, the comment shocked her and felt disrespectful, as she is not married to Davido.
“I once met a content creator who started hailing me as ‘Mama Imade, OBO’s wife.’ I was shocked because I am not his wife,” she said.
She also reminded the public that Davido is now married to Chioma, his longtime partner, and urged people to respect their marriage and personal boundaries. Sophia stressed that everyone has moved on and deserves peace.
“Stop referring to me as Davido’s wife. Let’s respect people’s marriages and rules. If people have moved on, allow them to move on in peace. Everyone is happy and doing what they are supposed to do,” she added.
Her message has sparked conversations online, with many social media users supporting her call for respect and clarity.
