Gov. Mutfwang officially joins the APC after leaving the PDP.

The Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Mutfwang, has officially joined the All Progressives Congress (APC). The defection took place on Friday in Jos, where the Plateau APC chairman, Rufus Bature, presented him with his membership card.

Speaking at the event, Governor Mutfwang said his decision to leave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and join the APC was made in the best interest of Plateau State. He explained that the move would help the state grow and benefit more from national cooperation.

The governor assured residents that his change of party would not affect governance, promising an all-inclusive administration that carries everyone along. He urged the people of Plateau to remain united and supportive as the state enters a new political phase.

According to him, the decision is a “journey of faith,” and he believes Plateau will enjoy positive results from the move. He called on skeptics to be patient, saying time will explain everything. He also encouraged those who are worried to stay calm and fearless, stressing that the move was made with good intentions.

“We have come to work together and join hands for the progress of Plateau,” Mutfwang said, urging residents to relax and trust the process.

The governor also expressed gratitude to the PDP, his former party, thanking its members for giving him the platform that shaped his political career.

His defection signals a major political shift in Plateau State and is expected to reshape the state’s political landscape ahead of future elections.
