“I’m building the biggest city in Africa” — Obi Cubana’s video sets social media abuzz.

Popular businessman and socialite, Obi Iyiegbu, widely known as Obi Cubana, has sparked conversations online after reacting to people calling him “City Boy.”

The nickname recently gained attention following his appointment as the South-East Coordinator of the City Boy Movement, a political group aligned with the All Progressives Congress (APC) and supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid. However, Obi Cubana has offered a different reason for the name.

In a video shared on social media, the entrepreneur linked the nickname to his large real estate project, Cubana Millennium City, which is currently under construction in Asaba, Delta State. While showing the development site, he revealed that work on the housing estate began in December 2025 and is expected to be completed by April 2026.

Reacting to the growing attention, Obi Cubana said people keep calling him “City Boy” because he is building what he described as the biggest city in Africa. He added that he is currently busy and will properly respond when the time is right.

Earlier, Obi Cubana had hinted at the level of attention he has been receiving. On Wednesday, January 24, he shared a video showing his phone ringing repeatedly, suggesting he had been getting numerous calls following the recent developments.

The remarks have continued to generate reactions online, with many social media users sharing their opinions on the nickname and his latest project.
