Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has officially defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). The governor made the announcement during a statewide broadcast on Friday.
Fintiri revealed that he, along with his entire cabinet and all officials of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, have moved to the APC. He explained that the decision was made in the interest of the developmental needs of the people of Adamawa State.
This move follows a trend of defections to the APC, including Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefa and governors of Kano and Plateau States, Abba Yusuf and Caleb Muftwang, respectively.
Further details of the defection and its implications for Adamawa politics are expected to emerge in the coming days.
