Nigerian streamer and skitmaker Carter Efe has shared the painful story of his father’s death, which occurred several years ago in Ogun State.
According to Carter Efe, his father, a police officer, had just finished his duty on the day of the tragedy. He decided to follow a police van from work to the nearest bus stop close to their home. While on the highway, they encountered heavy traffic caused by what appeared to be a military operation.
Unbeknownst to them, the men dressed in military camouflage were actually armed robbers. When the officers stepped out of the vehicle to assess the situation, the robbers noticed their police uniforms and immediately opened fire. Carter Efe’s father was fatally shot during the attack.
The streamer described the experience as deeply traumatizing. He recounted that he later saw his father’s lifeless body on television, and noted that the video clip of the incident is still available on YouTube, serving as a painful reminder of the tragedy.
Speaking on The Honest Bunch Podcast, Carter Efe said, “My dad had closed from duty and was heading home but he decided to enter the police van to the nearest bus-stop to our house in Ogun State. However, they ran into a gridlock and some men in military camouflage were robbing. My dad and his colleagues alighted from the van to check what was going on, but immediately the robbers spotted them in police uniform, they opened fire on them. My dad is on YouTube; I saw my dad’s lifeless body on the ground in his police uniform.”
He added, “I am not a stranger to pain. I have gone through a lot of pains. So, there is no pain that will make me stop my grind.”
The revelation highlights both the personal trauma Carter Efe has endured and his determination to continue pursuing his career despite the devastating loss.
