Nollywood actress Bimbo Ademoye has addressed criticism from some social media users who accused her of running fake giveaways.
In a statement shared on her Instagram page, the AMVCA-winning actress revealed that some individuals had been sending her insulting messages in her direct messages, questioning the authenticity of her giveaways. She made it clear that she does not tolerate disrespect in any form.
Explaining her stance, Bimbo wrote:
“While I understand that the economy is tough and a lot of us need money… I need you to understand that I’m only one person; there are 5.1 million of you here! If I could, I’d give every single one of my followers money… but I can’t. I’m only doing the little I can from my pocket.”
She also addressed accusations of favouritism and fake giveaways, stating:
“For some of you to attack me… saying my giveaways are fake and hurling insults, even calling me ‘stingy goat,’ I think that’s out of line! I do not do well with disrespect at all… Please do not play with me! I’ve given out millions without anyone knowing.”
The actress further warned critics to be cautious in how they speak to her, stressing that being a public figure does not mean she should accept insults.
Despite the backlash, Bimbo continued her giveaway activities, congratulating a winner and announcing another round for her followers.
The situation has sparked mixed reactions online, with many fans supporting her honesty and generosity, while others continue to debate the transparency of celebrity giveaways.
