Actress Opeyemi Aiyeola Questions Silence of Celebrities Over Insecurity in Oyo State

Nollywood actress Opeyemi Aiyeola has publicly expressed deep concern over rising insecurity and tension in Oyo State and parts of Yorubaland, calling on influential figures to speak out.

In an emotional message shared online, the actress questioned why prominent entertainers, traditional rulers, and political leaders have remained silent despite the situation. She specifically mentioned several personalities and institutions, urging them to use their platforms to raise awareness and address the growing concerns.

She wrote:

“Where’s Actress Funke Akindele, Actress Toyin Abraham, Actress Eniola Badmus, Actor Lege Miami, Yomi Fasolanzo, Alafin of Oyo, Ooni of Ife, Pres Bola Ahmed Tinubu and my other colleagues?

What’s happening in Oyo state and Yoruba land generally?

Why are they not spreading it on their large platforms?

This is actually closer to home now, there’s a serious fire on the mountain, we can’t keep quiet and watch these people take over my land and continue to kpai our people, this has to stop. I am worried now.”

Her comments have sparked conversations online, with some people agreeing that public figures should be more vocal about security challenges, while others debated the role of celebrities in political and security matters.

The post reflects growing anxiety among some residents and observers over reported unrest in the region and calls for more attention from influential voices.
