Nigerian Afro-house singer Niniola has been thrown into mourning following the death of her husband, Michael Ndika.
The singer, popularly known for her hit song Maradona, shared the heartbreaking news on her Instagram Story on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. In her emotional posts, she also revealed for the first time that they had been together for 13 years.
Niniola expressed deep pain over the loss, writing:
“God took him. 13 years. 13 f*ing years.”
She accompanied the message with photos of herself and her late husband, which further shocked fans and followers online.
The circumstances surrounding Michael Ndika’s death were not immediately made public, as the singer has always kept her private life away from social media attention.
Fans and colleagues have since flooded social media with condolence messages, expressing sympathy and support for the singer during this difficult time.
