The race for Nigeria’s 2027 presidential election is gathering momentum as former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi have obtained expression of interest and nomination forms from the African Democratic Congress.
Another presidential hopeful, Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, has also picked up the party’s nomination form, promising to focus on security, job creation, and the rising cost of living if elected.
The development was confirmed by the ADC National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, who stated that all three aspirants had successfully obtained the forms.
According to the party, the presidential nomination form is priced at ₦90 million.
Hayatu-Deen received his form from the ADC National Organising Secretary, Chinedu Idigo, and used the opportunity to address the country’s current challenges.
In his statement, he said many Nigerians are facing hardship, insecurity, and economic difficulties. He stressed that the 2027 election should go beyond politics and focus on improving security, rebuilding the economy, creating jobs, and making life more affordable for citizens.
He also noted that economic growth cannot happen in an environment filled with fear and instability, describing security as the foundation of a strong economy.
Meanwhile, the ADC announced that the sale of its expression of interest and nomination forms will continue from May 6 to May 13.
