Bola Ahmed Tinubu Wins APC Presidential Ticket Ahead of 2027 Election

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has emerged as the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections after defeating his challenger, Stanley Osifo, in the party primaries.

According to the results announced during the national collation held at the Abuja conference centre named after the president, Tinubu secured a total of 10.99 million votes, while Osifo polled 16,504 votes.

The primaries were conducted across 8,809 wards nationwide, with APC governors from 31 states and other party leaders serving as coordinators and collation officers presenting results to the election committee chaired by former Senate President Pius Anyim.

Tinubu reportedly dominated across all 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), winning nearly 100% of votes in most areas.

Osifo, however, recorded notable support in some states, including Niger State (5,248 votes), Kano (2,675), Lagos (1,186), Abia (1,007), Oyo (929), Benue (779), and Nasarawa (768).

The outcome confirms President Tinubu as the APC’s flagbearer as the party prepares for the 2027 presidential election.
