Nollywood actress Laide Bakare has shared her views on what she described as growing online narratives about women competing over romantic partners.
The actress questioned the claims, expressing disbelief that women would be involved in conflicts over men. She called for a change in mindset and urged women to focus more on personal growth and dignity.
In her statement, she said:
“Is it true? I heard some women have started fighting over men? Kilode? As in what happened to them?
We have enough men, please my gender respect yourself and stop fighting over men. Go and work on yourself, take real good care of yourself, spend on yourself. The right man that will respect you will definitely come around. Please let’s stop disgracing ourselves as women.”
She further emphasized the importance of self-care, independence, and self-respect, encouraging women to invest in themselves and avoid unnecessary rivalry in relationships.
