“He Was a Quintessential Actor” – Clarion Chukwurah Pays Tribute to Kola Oyewo, Recalls His

Veteran Nollywood actress Clarion Chukwurah has paid an emotional tribute to the late theatre icon Kola Oyewo, reflecting on his strong influence on her early journey in the entertainment industry.


In a heartfelt post shared on her Instagram page, she revealed that Kola Oyewo was once her lecturer while she was an undergraduate at the Department of Dramatic Arts at the then University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University). She explained that he taught her Theatre Management and played a key role in shaping her foundation in acting and stage production.


Clarion Chukwurah also recalled how they later worked together on several major productions, including the historical project “Oduduwa”, as well as other traditional films and stage plays. She described those experiences as meaningful moments in her career.


Mourning his passing, she expressed deep respect and gratitude for his contributions, describing him as a “quintessential actor across three generations.” She prayed for him to rest in peace and bid him a final farewell with admiration and love.



Her tribute highlighted the late Kola Oyewo’s lasting legacy as both a teacher and a respected figure in Nigerian theatre and film.
