“My Wife Is the Head of My Home” – Baba Elesho Says as He Shares Emotional Story About His Mother

Veteran Nollywood actor Baba Elesho has revealed that his wife plays a central leadership role in his family, describing her as the head of their home structure.

Speaking in a recent interview, the actor shared a deeply personal experience involving his mother’s health challenges and how he managed a sensitive family situation.

He explained that his mother had been battling an eye condition for years and was staying with one of his younger siblings at the time. Although she was not living with him, he said he remained fully responsible for her welfare and regularly checked on her.

According to him, during one of his visits, he noticed that his mother was uncomfortable with her living arrangements and strongly expressed her distress. He said she even stated she would rather be “thrown into the sea” than remain where she was, prompting him to immediately bring her home.

However, Baba Elesho emphasized that he did not act alone. He first informed his wife before bringing his mother into the house, stressing the importance of involving her in family decisions.

He said he met his wife upstairs, greeted her respectfully, and informed her that they had a visitor. After explaining the situation, his wife asked questions, giving him the opportunity to fully explain his mother’s condition and the reason for bringing her home.

He recounted:

“I went upstairs to meet my wife, prostrated and told her I had a visitor… she asked who, I said Alhaja.”

He added that after explaining everything, his wife understood the situation and allowed his mother into the home.

Baba Elesho concluded that mutual respect is the foundation of their marriage, noting that his wife plays a key decision-making role in the household.

According to him, he felt it was necessary to inform her first because her opinion and reaction matter in how their home is run.
