Nollywood actor Lateef Adedimeji has addressed criticism from fans after he visited the Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Ogunwusi, without his wife by his side.
In a detailed post shared on his social media page, the actor clarified that he did not deliberately leave out his wife, actress Adebimpe Oyebade. According to him, she was unable to accompany him because she was occupied with taking care of their triplets.
Lateef expressed gratitude for the opportunity to spend time with the revered monarch, describing the visit as a memorable and inspiring experience. He said he was privileged to learn from the wisdom of the traditional ruler and considered the moment an important part of his personal growth.
The actor revealed that the warm reception he received at the palace, combined with the welcoming nature of the Ooni, left him deeply touched. He noted that he still felt emotional recalling the experience and appreciated the honor of being in the monarch’s presence.
Lateef also reflected on his journey in life, saying he never imagined that the little boy he once was would grow to a point where he could sit and dine with kings. He described the experience as a blessing and a reminder of how far he has come.
Speaking further about the palace, the actor praised its beauty, elegance, and cultural significance. He said the environment reflected class, luxury, spirituality, and a strong sense of home, making the visit even more special.
Although he has visited the palace before, Lateef admitted that the experience felt fresh and exciting all over again. He ended his message by thanking the Ooni for welcoming him and giving him another opportunity to spend time with him.
His statement came after some social media users questioned why his wife was absent during the royal visit, prompting him to explain the reason behind her absence and share details of the memorable encounter.
