A Nigerian man has gone viral on social media after expressing frustration over the rising cost of food in the country.
In a video shared online, the man revealed that he bought just eight tomatoes for ₦1,000 at a market in Yaba, Lagos, a purchase he said left him shocked and concerned about the current cost of living.
Reacting to the price, he questioned how families, particularly those with many children, are expected to cope with the increasing cost of basic food items.
According to him, essential cooking ingredients such as tomatoes, pepper, and onions have become too expensive for many Nigerians to afford comfortably.
The man also used the opportunity to speak about the economic challenges facing the country, lamenting the hardship many citizens are experiencing daily.
He further expressed concern about insecurity and the overall rising cost of living, saying the situation is becoming increasingly difficult for ordinary Nigerians.
The video has since generated widespread reactions online, with many social media users sharing similar experiences and concerns about soaring food prices and the economic realities facing households across the country.
