“Give Tinubu More Time” – Jide Kosoko Speaks, Sends Strong Message to Nigerians

Veteran Nollywood actor Jide Kosoko has appealed to Nigerians to be patient with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying it is too early to judge whether his administration has succeeded or failed.

Speaking in an interview with FeelrightnewsTV, the actor said leading a country is a gradual process and that government policies need time before people can see the full results.

To explain his point, Jide Kosoko compared governing a country to building a house.

According to him, no one can judge a building before it is completed.

He said:

“If you are building a house, you cannot assess such a building and give it a pass mark until the building is completed. Bola Ahmed Tinubu is not God. That means he cannot be perfect.”

The veteran actor also said many Nigerians allow people who oppose the government to shape their opinions.

According to him, some critics carefully create messages that influence how people think about the current administration.

He said:

“What those opposing Tinubu are projecting for you to say is what you will be saying. What they have crafted that they want you to carry in your head is what you will carry.”

Speaking about young Nigerians, especially Gen Z, Kosoko claimed they are often the easiest group to influence.

He added:

“They know you, Gen Z. You are easy to manipulate and control. Once they control you, you will all go on overdrive.”

Jide Kosoko also responded to claims that celebrities who support the government do so because they are being paid.

He argued that some people who call themselves activists also receive benefits but are rarely criticized, while those who openly support the government are quickly accused of collecting money.

According to him:

“The so-called activists, we know how they take money from government but come out to influence citizens. But when we talk, they accuse us of taking money to support the government. As if we don't have a mind of our own, as if we don't have family members suffering or as if we are enjoying well.”

His comments have generated mixed reactions online. While some Nigerians agree that every government needs time to deliver, others believe citizens have the right to judge leaders based on their current performance.
