“Stop Blaming It on His Support for Tinubu” – Isbea U Defends Ogogo Amid Cancer Battle

Content creator Isbea U has condemned those using veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo’s, cancer diagnosis to attack or mock him over his political affiliation.

Ogogo is currently battling stage-four cancer, a development that was recently made public by his daughters. Since the revelation, fans, colleagues and well-wishers have expressed concern while praying for the veteran actor’s recovery.

Amid the reactions, however, some social media users have linked Ogogo’s health condition to his support for President Bola Tinubu.

Reacting to the controversy on X, Isbea U urged Nigerians to put political differences aside and focus on the actor’s wellbeing. He argued that people who do not have useful information or assistance for Ogogo should simply pray for him rather than turning his illness into a political argument.

“Ogogo has stage 4 cancer, if you don’t have any necessary information that can help him, then please just pray for him. Enough of blaming it on him supporting Tinubu. Legend or not, a human like us is fighting for his life.”

His reaction followed a controversial post by comedian MC Lively, who shared an old video showing Ogogo expressing support for Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election. The post reportedly sparked backlash, with some Nigerians criticising the comedian for bringing up the actor’s political position while he is dealing with a serious health challenge.

MC Lively has reportedly deleted the post following the backlash.

Isbea U maintained that whatever political differences people may have with Ogogo should not overshadow the fact that he is currently fighting for his life. He called on Nigerians to focus on prayers and meaningful assistance rather than using the actor’s illness to score political points.

The issue has generated divided reactions online. While some commenters agreed that Ogogo’s health should be separated from politics, others argued that his political choices should remain open to criticism and that public figures should be prepared to face reactions to their decisions.

Several commenters also shared personal experiences with cancer and expressed sympathy for Ogogo, while others criticised what they described as selective outrage among those defending the veteran actor.

Despite the heated debate, the central appeal from Isbea U remains that Ogogo’s health should be treated with compassion and humanity, regardless of his political allegiance.
