Veteran Nollywood actress Bukky Wright has opened up about the deep shock and sadness she experienced following the deaths of her colleagues, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, and Kola Oyewo.


Speaking in an interview with BBC Yoruba, Bukky Wright revealed that the news of their passing came as a painful surprise, particularly the death of Taiwo Hassan, whom she said she never knew was seriously ill.


The actress recalled working with the late actors during their careers and reflected on the memories they shared on movie sets.



According to Bukky, the news of Ogogo’s death left her completely devastated because she had not been aware of his illness. She explained that even if she had known about his health challenges, death was never something she expected or wished for.


“It was sad news for me, and it caught me unaware, especially Ogogo. I didn’t know Ogogo was sick; even though he was sick, I didn’t pray for him to die.”


Bukky Wright further revealed that the deaths of the two veteran actors affected her so deeply that she was left speechless and unable to process the painful news immediately.


“The news left me shocked to the extent that I didn’t know what to say or do.”


The actress also recalled some of the projects she shared with the late Kola Oyewo and Taiwo Hassan, including Ogogo Ewo and Soworode, as she reflected on the bond and memories they created over the years.


Her emotional revelation highlights the impact the deaths of the two Nollywood veterans have had on their colleagues and the Nigerian movie industry.
