Baby Born With 31 Fingers and Toes Undergoes First Surgery To Correct His Birth Abnormalities [Photos]

This baby pic above was born with 31 fingers and toes has undergone the first of three surgery operations to correct his rare birth abnormalities. 

The baby who's 8 month old, named Hong Hong has 15 fingers and 16 toes, he has no thumbs or palm.

According to reports from his parent from the village of Zhongping, China, the baby is suffering from "Poldactyly", which causes extra digits to the hands and toes. Its reported that the disease occurs just once in every 10,000 birth and even reveals serious cases like this are rare.

The baby's mum also has one extra finger on each hand, which may explain how the infant inherited the condition.

The family's doctor Xu Jihai reveals, the operations will involve cutting off the boy’s extra fingers and toes and eventually reshaping his remaining digits.
