"You Will Pull Through and Come Out Stronger," Actor Yomi Fabiyi Sends Prayers to Mr. Ibu as His Leg Is Amputated

Nigerian actor and filmmaker Yomi Fabiyi has responded to the distressing news about veteran actor John Okafor, popularly known as Mr. Ibu, who recently had one of his legs amputated.


Mr. Ibu had appealed for financial assistance from Nigerians in a viral video to cover his medical expenses and seek better healthcare abroad. Many of his fans and prominent figures in the Nigerian film industry rallied to support him in this endeavor.


In a recent update, Mr. Ibu underwent seven successful surgeries and had to have one of his legs amputated to save his life.


Yomi Fabiyi, along with many others, expressed his thoughts and prayers for Mr. Ibu on his official Instagram page. In a heartfelt message, Fabiyi consoled the actor, assuring him that this is a temporary phase, and he will undoubtedly overcome it. He described Mr. Ibu as a fighter, a legend, a source of humor, and a national treasure and wished him a swift recovery.


Fabiyi's message read, "My prayer, thoughts, and concerns are with you @realmribu and his family. This is a phase; you will pull through and come out stronger. You are a fighter, a legend, humor merchant, and always a national asset. Quick recovery, sir."
