Cubana Chief Priest Arrives in Federal High Court for Alleged Naira Abuse Charges

Pascal Okechukwu, who is widely recognized as Cubana Chief Priest, a well-known figure in the entertainment industry, especially in the domain of bartending and business, has appeared before a Federal High Court located in Lagos. The purpose of his presence at the court is to face legal proceedings regarding accusations of improper handling and misuse of the Nigerian currency, the Naira.


The charges against Cubana Chief Priest comprise three counts, all related to alleged misconduct involving the Naira. Specifically, he is accused of tampering with and abusing the Naira currency. The charges were brought forward by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). It's worth noting that prior to this development, an online media platform, LIB, had reported on the EFCC filing three charges against him in connection to incidents involving the Naira.


The alleged incidents leading to these charges include instances where Cubana Chief Priest is said to have engaged in the spraying and tampering of Naira notes. These events reportedly occurred at various occasions, notably at the Eko Hotel on February 13th, 2024, during an event in Lagos in January 2024, and at another gathering back in 2020.


Cubana Chief Priest's appearance in court marks the commencement of legal proceedings regarding these allegations.
