Renowned Nollywood actor Femi Adebayo has announced a generous initiative to offer free rams to Muslims as the major Sallah celebration, Eid-el-Kabir, approaches.
In a recent social media post, Adebayo showcased his charitable efforts despite Nigeria’s severe economic challenges. The Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar, has announced that Eid-el-Kabir will be celebrated on Sunday, June 16, 2024. The nation's economic woes have significantly affected ram vendors and Muslim consumers.
On June 9, 2024, Femi Adebayo revealed via his verified Instagram page that he would be giving away rams to Muslim children in Nigeria through his annual #FemiAdebayolleyaGiveAway. Children aged 7-12 can participate by reciting the last two verses of Surat Al-Baqarah and submitting their entries with the hashtag #FemiAdebayolleyaGiveAway2024.
Entries with the best recitations will be shortlisted by 6 pm on June 11, 2024, and the winner will be announced by 6 pm on June 12, 2024. Adebayo emphasized that this initiative aims to encourage good Islamic values among children during the Sallah season.
He wrote, "My dear brothers and sisters in Islam, it’s another #FemiAdebayolleyaGiveAway, and as you know, we always try to encourage good Islamic values amongst our children this season. Here’s how to qualify and be the lucky winner of one big ram to celebrate this Ileya with your family. Children between the ages of 7 & 12 should recite the last two verses of Surat Al-Baqarah and send in their entries using the #FemiAdebayolleyaGiveAway2024. Entries with the best recitation will be shortlisted by 6 pm, June 11, 2024, and the winner announced by 6 pm, June 12, 2024."
