Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing Sunday has been recognized by the Mayor of Brampton, Ontario, Canada, Patrick Brown. Sharing the moment on Instagram, Nkechi posted a video showing Brown presenting her with a certificate of recognition. She expressed her gratitude, attributing this milestone to her faith and God's guidance, which she says continually blesses her despite any doubts from critics.
In her heartfelt post, Nkechi wrote:
“Yesterday I got recognized by the Mayor of Brampton @patrickbrownont. Being recognized and appreciated across the country is the Lord's doing, and I do not take His love and guidance for granted. Of a truth, I serve a living GOD, a GOD who is so particular about blessing me in front of those who doubt how far I can go in life, my God who never fails, a mighty man in battle. I call Him Jehovah Overdo, and on His words, He said, 'Nkechi Nwa Sunday, I am not done blessing you.' His words are true and evident in my life, that even the blind can see. Daddy, I bow before your throne of mercy and say THANK YOU because without you, I am nothing. Shout out to my brother @iammcmorris for making this possible.”
This special recognition follows a significant moment in Nkechi's career, as she recently issued a public apology to the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners of Nigeria (TAMPAN) and its president, Bolaji Amusan (popularly known as Mr. Latin). In a video that circulated on social media, Nkechi was seen kneeling before TAMPAN leaders, asking for forgiveness and pleading for the lifting of her industry ban. The touching moment ended with Mr. Latin embracing Nkechi, marking an end to their three-year conflict. The actress’s apology has since received widespread praise for its humility and courage, with fans and colleagues commending her gesture.
