Nollywood actor Aremu Afolayan has extended a heartfelt message of thanks to everyone who supported him during his mother’s burial, coinciding with his reconciliation with his elder brother, filmmaker Kunle Afolayan.
Sharing a photo from the burial, Aremu expressed gratitude for the calls, visits, prayers, and presence of loved ones during his time of mourning. While he regretted being unable to thank everyone individually, he offered a collective appreciation.
“This is my face of gratitude for all your calls, visits, support, and prayers on my mother’s death. I wish I could reply to each and everyone individually, but that’s practically impossible. Please accept this collective one. I love you; thank you,” Aremu wrote.
The burial also marked the official end of a long-standing rift between Aremu and Kunle, which had lasted over a decade. The reconciliation took place during the wake-keep service for their late mother, Omoladun Ayanladun Afolayan. Aremu publicly apologized to Kunle and commended his brother for his dedication to their mother’s care.
The feud between the brothers reportedly began years ago when Aremu criticized their family and referred to their late father as a poor man in a social media post.
Sharing the joyous news, Nollywood actor Muyiwa Ademola expressed his delight at witnessing the brothers’ reunion. He praised them for setting aside their differences and resolving the conflict during their mother’s wake-keep service. Ademola also noted that their late mother would now rest peacefully, knowing her children had reconciled, adding that she must be smiling from her resting place.
The reunion has been met with widespread support and admiration, as many celebrate the healing of family bonds during such a poignant moment.
